Plastic Bag Method Againts Newborn Body Temperature (BBLR)
Abstrak
Background: Low Birth Weight Babies (BBLR) are the biggest risk of neonatal death that often occurs, so it is a major factor in the occurrence of Hypothermy. Babies who experience BBLR have little fat content and cause the skin surface to become wide, causing the number of skin pores to widen and open. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the plastic bag method againts BBLR body temperature. Methods: This study used pretest posttest design. The sample of this study was 16 babies with BBLR. This research was conducted for one month and analyzed using Paired t-test and Independent t-test. Results: The difference in BBLR body temperature before and after being given the plastic bag method thretment was 1,062. The Paired t-test showed a p value of 0.000. The Independent t-test showed a p value of 0.127. Conclusion: The plastic bag method is effective in raising the baby’s body temperature due to evaporation caused by the baby’s body fluids that come out so that it is able to provide a warm temperature for 30 minutes after treatment.
